Beginner Yoga Series
Get moving at home!
If you're looking to get your body moving in a mindful way at home, the Beginner Yoga Series is for you! Yoga can help us feel calmer, more peaceful, and more in touch with our bodies. It can build strength (mentally and physically) and help us stretch and rest. But it can feel overwhelming knowing how to get started. This Beginner Yoga Series is designed to help you get started safely and confidently.
Included in the Beginner Yoga Series:
- 6 yoga classes perfect for people who are new to yoga (approximately 45 minutes each)
- Clear instructions for safely and confidently doing the most common yoga poses
- Recommendations for my favorite accessories (including a bolster, blocks, and a belt)
- Playlists created to play in the background as you practice yoga
All you need is a yoga mat and some space to spread out to feel more relaxed, refreshed, grounded, and connected to your body.
In each yoga practice, we'll explore common yoga poses including:
- Downward Dog
- Warrior 1
- Warrior 2
- Side Angle
- And more!
With a focus on mindful movement, we'll explore poses in a way that will leave you feeling confident and safe in your practice. Throughout the practices, variations will be offered to help you find poses that feel good in your body.
Each practice has a focus that brings a cohesive and complete feeling to it. When you complete all 6 practices, you'll cover all the basics. You'll want to return to these practices again and again! Included in this Beginner Yoga Series, you'll find:
- Practice One: Getting Started and Downward Dog
- Practice Two: Beginning Standing Poses
- Practice Three: Exploring Lunge and Warrior 1
- Practice Four: Twisting for Spine Health
- Practice Five: Give Your Hips Some Love
- Practice Six: Restorative Poses to Rest and Relax
Move through these 6 practices at your own pace in a way that makes sense for your schedule. I recommend doing 1 practice per week, but it's completely up to you!
With thoughtful, accessible guidance, you'll feel safe and confident as you move through these practices. You'll return to them again and again!
About the Presenter
What will we do during yoga class?
Amy Jackson will teach a 40-45 minute class that focuses on yoga that feels good in your body. We'll begin each practice with a series of warm up poses followed by several poses, one at a time, to understand how to do each safely. Then we'll wind down with some stretches and end with a restful pose called savasana, where we rest in silence for a few minutes. Classes are on the gentle side with an emphasis on variations that allow everyone to participate safely and confidently.
Is this yoga series only for women?
No! As always, workshops and classes offered by The Perch are open to all.
What if I've never practiced yoga before?
This series is made for you! I want to help you feel safe and confident as you practice yoga, so these practices are designed with you in mind. We'll move through the most common poses together ensuring you can do them in a way that feels good in your body.
What supplies do I need?
The only thing you'll need is a yoga mat, comfy clothes, and a chair (a kitchen chair or metal folding chair work great). I've included recommendations for some of my favorite additional props, but I'll guide you through without needing anything else.
How will I access the videos?
You'll get access to a password-protected page where you can watch all of the practices, find my favorite extra supplies, and also find playlists for playing while you practice. It has everything you need in one place! Videos can be streamed on a computer, phone, tablet, or even TV. You'll get an email with the link and password shortly after you finish your purchase.
How long will I have access to the videos?
Forever! Once you purchase this series, you'll have lifetime access.
I have additional questions. How can I contact you?
