Explore movement and mindfulness in a fun summer camp at The Perch!
Join Amy Jackson and friends for a special summer camp for kids ages 6-11 focused on yoga and mindfulness! We'll learn empowering yoga poses, relaxing yoga poses, and simple mindfulness tools. Plus, we'll use art to help us be present and mindful. We'll also have friends of The Perch stop by to help us learn about jewelry making, sound healing, and more!
Shawna Serrato will join us on Tuesday as we learn about the power of sound to make us feel calm in our bodies. Shannon Maraffa of Crystal Ship Jewelry will join us on Friday to create our own bracelets using crystals (these are definitely for all genders!).
This 5-day camp is perfect for kids who want to begin their yoga journey, learn about mindfulness, enjoy crafts, or simply move their body with other kids their age.
They'll love this fun, supportive environment to learn yoga and mindfulness that can benefit them in their everyday life!
Each day we'll learn new yoga poses, try out mindful exercises, discover helpful breathing tools, and even do some crafting.
Join me June 22-26 from 9:00-11:00 am!
About the Presenter
Amy Jackson is founder and director of The Perch located in Aurora, Illinois. She is the author of Unhurried: A 52-Week Meditative Bible Reading Guide and 31 Days of Self Kindness, an RYT-200 yoga teacher, and a certified Wellness and Social-Emotional Learning Facilitator. Jackson also holds an M.A. in Christian Formation and Ministry from Wheaton College. She spends time leading retreats, teaching about soul care, and helping all sorts of people discover yoga. She is passionate about helping people reconnect with their bodies, give themselves kindness, and live out their calling in healthy, flourishing ways.

What will we do during yoga & art camp?
Amy Jackson will teach an accessible kids yoga and mindfulness class that focuses on yoga that feels good in our bodies. It's a perfect way to introduce yoga to your kids or grandkids and help them discover the power of moving their body in a mindful way. Each day we'll learn new yoga poses, try out mindful exercises, discover helpful breathing tools, and even do some crafting.
Is this yoga camp for all ages?
No. This specific camp is only for kids ages 6-11.
What should I bring to yoga camp?
Please have your child wear comfortable clothing they can move freely in. If you have a yoga mat, you're welcome to bring it along, but I have plenty to share if you don't have one. Kids will take off their shoes and socks, so plan accordingly. Kids should also bring a leak-proof water bottle to class. Any additional materials they'll need will be provided.
What if my kid has never practiced yoga before?
Yoga classes at The Perch are intentionally inclusive to all. This class in particular is designed for kids just getting started. No prior experience is needed.
What if I register but my kid can't make it to class?
We'll miss you! It's up to you if you want to let me know. Some students email me, and some don't. In general, I don't give refunds or credits for missed classes.
