Relax and Release with Restorative Poses
Research reveals that our bodies hold our trauma and stress. Restorative yoga is designed to move our nervous systems out of fight or flight and into rest and digest mode (known as our parasympathetic nervous system). This is not only relaxing, but also deeply healing for the body as it's encouraged to move out of survival mode.
In this special 4-week group, we'll move our bodies in gentle, comforting ways. Each class, we'll do several restful poses which will encourage deep relaxation and a sense of feeling safe within the body. We'll include thoughts from Scripture and the Christian faith that can support our healing and rest.
Join me April 22, April 29, May 13, and May 20 from 6:30 - 8:00 pm.

FAQ
What will we do during yoga class?
Amy Jackson will teach a 90-minute restorative yoga class that focuses on restful yoga poses that feel good in our bodies and support our nervous system. We'll stretch, relax, and become more connected with our bodies, all while honoring our bodies' limitations and needs. Classes are on the gentle side with an emphasis on variations that allow everyone to participate.
What should I bring to yoga class?
Please wear comfortable clothing you can move freely in. Sweatpants are perfect for restorative yoga! If you have a yoga mat, you're encouraged to bring it along, but I do have a few to share if you don't have one. You'll be invited to take off your shoes, so plan accordingly. Any additional props you'll need will be provided.
What if I've never practiced yoga before?
Yoga classes at The Perch are intentionally inclusive to all. You do not need any prior experience with yoga poses. Of course, please check with your doctor to ensure this kind of physical activity is healthy for your body.
