Relax Your Neck and Shoulders

So many of us hold so much stress and tension in this topmost part of the spine. Join us for a rejuvenating yoga workshop designed to relax and unlock your neck and shoulders. Through yoga poses, targeted stretches, and mindful breathing exercises, we’ll address common areas of tension and stress.

Led by Dr. Jeff Manning, Doctor of Chiropractic, we'll learn about the anatomy of these key areas so you can understand the underlying causes of neck and shoulder discomfort and learn techniques to alleviate pain and improve flexibility. Perfect for all levels, this workshop will invite you to release built-up tension, reconnect with your body, and find some ease. Take a deep breath, let go, and embrace the relief. Please note: we may engage some partner work as part of this workshop.

Join us Saturday, November 30 from 10 am - 12 pm at The Perch!

You're invited to wear comfortable clothing you can move around in (i.e., yoga clothes, sweatpants, or other clothing you'd wear to the gym). If you have a yoga mat, you're encouraged to bring it. (We do have mats to borrow, though, if you don't have one!) You'll be invited to take off your shoes and socks, so please plan accordingly. 


About the Presenter

Dr. Jeffrey Manning has been teaching yoga since 2000, after experiencing the healing power from his own injuries. He continued to teach and learn about the body and became a massage therapist in 2003. Seeing the benefits of yoga and bodywork, Jeff opened the Aurora Yoga Center in 2009 to have this system in one space. In 2020, Jeff graduated from medical school as a chiropractor, give him a new perspective on healing practices. Now he blends medical knowledge with a deep understanding of yoga philosophy and practice, which creates a powerful holistic healing system.

What will we do during yoga class?

Dr. Jeff Manning will teach a 2-hour workshop on the anatomy of the neck and shoulders as we do yoga poses specific to this area. This class is perfect for all body types and needs. Jeff is extremely knowledgeable and able to meet every person exactly where they are. Come ready to do yoga poses and learn more about your neck and shoulders so you can be mindful as you go about your day.

Is this workshop only for women?

No! As always, workshops, retreats, and cohorts offered by The Perch are open to adults of all genders.

What should I bring to yoga class?

Please wear comfortable clothing you can move freely in. If you have a yoga mat, you're encouraged to bring it along, but we do have several to share if you don't have one. You'll be invited to take off your shoes, so plan accordingly. Any additional props you'll need will be provided. 

What if I've never practiced yoga before?

Yoga classes at The Perch are intentionally inclusive to all. You do not need any prior experience with yoga poses. Of course, please check with your doctor to ensure this kind of physical activity is healthy for your body.

What if I register but can't make it to the workshop?

We'll miss you! It's up to you if you want to let us know. Some students email us, and some don't. In general, we don't give refunds or credits for missed workshops.
